4/ply TWISTart Dahlias

Materials:
- 1 4/ply TWISTart Dahlia , made from 4 single 20 cm strands of 4/ply two tone rose n. 019;
- 2 - 18 cm strands of 4/ply two tone TWISTart green n. 035 for the leaves;
- 2 - 25 cm strands of 4/ply two tone TWISTart green n. 035 for the stem and to cover the stem;
- 1 pair of scissors;
- white glue;
- 1 hole punch or toothpicki.

Instructions to make 1 Dahlia:

Make a Square Knot using two strands of 4/ply TWISTart rose n. 019. One strand will be lighter than the other but both of the same tone. Prepare the two 18cm strands of green n. 035 for the leaves.

Untwist all the pink strands to form the petals (you will untwist 8 pink strands).
Untwist the two green strands and form 1 leaf per strand as shown in the picture.

Using a hole punch or toothpick, thread the 4/ply strand of green n. 035 through the back of the square knot, and than untwist and form a second leaf.

One 25cm strand will be your stem, the other 25 cm strand should be untwisted completely as shown in the picture. Cut a 2-3cm piece off the opened strand which will serve to affix the stem to the flower.

Thread the 25cm untwisted strand of Green n. 035 through the back of the flower, and form a hook by bending it. Spread some white glue across the 2-3cm green n. 035 opened piece, and wrap the hook, blocking and attaching it to the flower.

Cover the stem strand completely with the open strand by gluing it while you wrap. For better results prior to covering, cut the open strand for the length of the strand into 2 / 2.5 cm width strands.
